Thank you Sabine, yet again! I really appreciate the respect, consideration, and holistic approach that you take to my body.  Instead of just applying a band aid to my ailments, I feel like you provide me with relief, as well as a pathway for self-healing and understanding.  I continue to recommend you to everyone because of your familiarity of the intricate workings of the human body and your ability to administer healing with kindness.

Cindy Dennard - Southeast Adventure Outfitters, Owner, Guide & new Mother!

I’ve practiced yoga with many teachers in many places for many years.  Sabine remains in my heart as one of the most inspiring teachers, both in the spirit of yoga and in her excellent expression of the asana practice.  Anyone who has the opportunity to study with her will come away enriched in all regards.

I have been visiting the Golden Isles for more than 29 years.  I met Sabine few years later, and she is one of the best massage therapist I have ever been lucky enough to experience.  When I brought my good friend Morgan Freeman to the island, I set up a massage for him with Sabine.  Afterward, he agreed with me about her.  He wanted to hire her on the spot!

If you’re ever on St Simons, or near, treat yourself to one of the best massages you’ll ever find.  Many thanks to you for taking care of my old beat up body.  I truly look forward to my trips to SSI for your massages and to visit with you. . . Love ya.

About eleven years ago I was introduced to yoga at Elysian Fields Yoga Center.  It has been a part of my life ever since.  It has made my life better and richer in many ways by helping my strength and flexibility.  And I believe it has helped keep me feeling young in spite of my 78 years.  Most of all, I have learned to meditate and quiet my mind so that I can enjoy a peace and serenity that I had never before experiences.  I’m grateful to my teachers Sabine and Camden for these blessings.

With Love and Best Wishes,

The yoga that I learned from Sabine is a permanent part of my body, and a big reason that I am pretty limber and toned at the age of 64.  I started yoga at Elysian Fields in 2001 and continued regular classes there through early 2007 when I moved to Anniston, Alabama.  Sabine used “tough love” on me and got me to do some things I didn’t think I could.  Her insistence on discipline, commitment, and excellence have benefited me all these years later, and I am eternally grateful.  While I wasn’t interested in the spiritual side of yoga at the time, I am now.  Sabine is the one who made a path and pointed the way.

I’ve been a yoga student for years, and for me, having a high-quality teacher is very important.  When I moved to St Simons, one of the hardest parts about moving was leaving my much loved and trusted yoga teachers behind.  So I researched to seek out the best yoga teacher I could find in the area, and found Sabine.  She’d recently closed Elysian Fields Yoga Center and told me she’d stopped teaching group classes for a while, and now offered only private instruction, massage therapy, and other mind-body therapy.  She did, however, take interest in my well being and very kindly referred me to some wonderful yoga teachers on the island, whose classes I’ve enjoyed and benefitted from very much.  She became my massage therapist, occasional private yoga teacher, and now a friend.  The open, honest, caring, nurturing, and loving connection that Sabine has given me has made some very difficult and tumultuous transitions in my life so much easier.  I’m just really glad she’s here.

I’ve had the pleasure of knowing and working with Sabine for the past seven years.  She has a unique ability to both instruct and inspire, and a strong  intuitive sense of a persons body and health.  I first went to her just for message.  She was able to tell me more about my body than even I was aware of.  She corrected a multitude of issues and then gave me ideas on how to maintain the corrections that had been made.

I feel that Sabine’s true gift is her ability to educate, heal, and empower.  Being with her makes me think of the structure of a flower.  Each time I’m with her she opens up another petal to reveal more of my own beauty, knowledge and wellbeing.  If you let her, she will help you address every aspect of your life.  Her knowledge of helpful herbs, foods and exercises will help you obtain optimal health.  Sabine is a rare person who embodies all that she teaches.  My favorite quote from her is “ I’m constantly dazzled by my life”.  She inspires me every day to be dazzled by my life!

I am, I hope, one of Sabine’s star cases.  About eight years ago I came to her with a severe neck pain.  I had been advised by two physicians to have disk surgery.  She coached me on proper posture, gave me massage therapy (ouch at first), and then introduced me to yoga.  I never had the surgery and am today pain free with good motion of my neck and shoulders.  Thanks for being such a skilled and caring therapist.  I miss the yoga classes at Elysian Fields and try to keep up with a home practice.

There is so much to say about Sabine.  First, she started as my massage therapist (the best around) and would encourage me to come by her studio and take a yoga class.  I resisted because I thought the only way to stay thin and work out was by being a gym rat.  After a while, I finally did join classes at Elysian Fields, and what a difference the yoga made.  I did continue to do triathlons and work out until I had a bicycle accident.  Then I decided to change my direction because the other wasn’t working for me.  I thought, what do I have to lose!  And of course, Sabine was correct.  My body is now the best it’s ever been and I haven’t been inside of a gym for over a year.  I am much stronger.  I have muscle where I did not know they existed.  And I have more peace of mind.  All this because Sabine would not give up on me.  She knew I needed this.  She is also extremely knowledgeable in Ayurvedic herbs.  I know I can always call and tell her my problems and she will help.  Not only has she helped me with all the above, she has also become my friend.

I lived on Saint Simons Island from 1999 to 2003, and Sabine’s yoga classes were one of the most precious blessings for me while I lived there.  I feel also very privileged that she allowed me to join her personal Ashtanga yoga practice.  I am still in awe about how she was able to gracefully embody her own asanas while simultaneously guiding me through my first and second series with detail and precision.  Her strength and focus helped me to discover places in the asanas and in the yoga experience in general, that I didn’t know were possible or even existed.  My deepest respect and timeless gratitude for this life changing initiation.

Sabine is a skillful guide who lives the principles of yoga.  She urges and supports her students in their quest to go beyond their comfort zone.  Sabine’s knowledge of the human body and the human psyche are impressive.  She is truly gifted in her practice and in her teaching, an inspiration to all who know her.

Sabine is so thorough and complete in her research of life experiences.  She has taught me to honor the pause and to not be afraid of the pause, but to welcome it!  Through her yoga teaching, massage therapy, and wisdom guidance, she has helped me tap into my true gifts.  Her bodywork sessions are a guided journey through the physical, emotional and energetic sheaths inviting clarity and knowledge of one’s true being.  She has gifted me with her healing teachings so that I too can now feel the energetic body not only in myself but others.  I am forever grateful for her continued presence in my life as my friend, my teacher, and my soul sister!  She is a blessing to all who know her and will know her!  Namaste’

Camden Hock,  Yoga teacher and Life Coach in Boulder, Colorado

I am a good friend of Sabines.  We have been friends for most of the time I lived on St Simons Island.  Through my 13 years there we had a lot of fun together sharing our love for music, the great outdoors, good food, good movies, and good people. Our friendship grew once I started attending her yoga classes.   Through her teachings I was given the invaluable gift of being comfortable in my own body.  Because of her courage to be genuine, and her vast knowledge of yoga, my respect for her as a friend and a teacher grew as I learned more and more.  As a business owner she she offered things like movie night and dinners for people both in and outside of the yoga community.  She really brought the community of St. Simons together with positive and healthy activities.  I will always treasure that.

Her teachings are still so valuable to me I will carry them with me for the rest of my life.  Being busy building a happy, healthy, peaceful family, I have only recently taken my opportunities to practice yoga again.  Sabine has given me so much knowledge of yoga that I can practice with all of her teachings in my mind at home while our boys sleep.  With almost every movement I am reminded of her teachings so that sometimes it is just second nature.  Sometimes I hear her voice reminding me to make adjustments.  Things I used to do that she would point out or quietly and gently adjust.  Her enthusiasm is irreplaceable.  Many times in our Ashtanga class, while we were moving gracefully and in unison from one pose to the other, I couldn’t help noticing the joyful excitement in her voice when she would compare us to graceful dancers.  As a student I wanted to please her because she got so much out of seeing her students doing well.  Being spoiled by her classes and now living in New York I think I will not be able to find a teacher that I respect and enjoy as much as Sabine.  I am more than happy practicing at home now with her teachings alive in my mind and heart, while the boys sleep peacefully.

Note to Djuna from Sabine -

Dear Djuna,

I’m so complemented and warmed by your words.  And at the same time, I feel that they reflect so beautifully on the kind of person you are.  I’v always admired your strength of character so much, and I’m so happy you’re practicing yoga at home again.  It’s is so medicinal in so many ways. I also love that I’m still able to serve your practice through your memory and through your heart.  The one thought I would love to add is that as your babies get older and you become interested in sharing and learning more yoga again, that you do find teachers you love as much ( or more even ) than me.  There are a lot of good ones out there and if we keep a clear heart, life and learning can be ever expanding and lovingly inclusive.  Boundaries can sometimes become barriers to good things if we’re not careful.  And you so deserve a rich, wide, wonderful, supportive world at your reach, my friend.

Thank you for adding your kind words to my website.

I cherish our friendship

Love

Sabine
